Cookie Preferences

We use cookies to keep you safe and improve your experience on Acefre.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place in your browser when you visit them. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in between visits, and understand how you interact with the platform. Cookies do not contain viruses or harmful code — they are simple data files your browser stores locally.

Acefre uses cookies to provide a secure, personalised, and performant experience for students, runners, and admins across Nigerian campuses.

Cookie Categories

We group the cookies we use into four categories based on their purpose.

Essential Cookies
Always Active

These cookies are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.

  • Authentication tokens — keep you securely logged in
  • CSRF protection tokens — prevent cross-site request forgery attacks
  • Session management — maintain your active session
  • Security cookies — detect and prevent fraudulent activity
Why they're needed: The platform cannot function without these cookies. Disabling them would prevent login, expose your account to security risks, and break core features.
Analytics Cookies
Optional

Help us understand how users interact with Acefre so we can improve it.

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Feature usage tracking
  • Error reporting and crash diagnostics
Provider: Internal analytics (no third-party ad networks)
Purpose: Help us understand how to improve the platform for Nigerian campus users
Performance Cookies
Optional

Make Acefre faster and more reliable for you.

  • Load time optimisation
  • CDN routing — serve assets from servers closest to you
  • Cache management — reduce repeat data fetching
Purpose: Make Acefre faster and more responsive across campus networks
Marketing Cookies
Not Used

We do not run targeted advertising or use marketing cookies.

Acefre does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not track you across other websites, build advertising profiles, or sell your data to advertisers. If this ever changes, we will notify you and request explicit consent first.

Your Controls

You have several ways to manage your cookie experience:

  • Browser settings:Most browsers let you view, clear, or block cookies in their privacy settings. Note that clearing essential cookies will log you out.
  • Private browsing:Using your browser's incognito or private mode prevents cookies from being saved after you close the window.
  • Data deletion:Email us at privacy@acefre.com to request deletion of your data, including any cookie-linked information we hold.

Your Consent

By using Acefre, you consent to our use of essential cookies — these are strictly necessary to provide the service. We do not use essential cookies for tracking or profiling.

For optional cookies (analytics and performance), we request explicit, informed consent separately. You will not be penalised for declining optional cookies.

A full in-app consent management interface is coming soon. In the meantime, you can manage cookies directly through your browser settings or contact us with any questions.
